Happy Halloween Month!

October is finally here and it's time to prepare your home for the ghouls and goblins that will be coming your way. There are 1,001 uses for this fabric and I would love to hear your ideas on how make it part of your Halloween decor. This vintage fabric contains white blossoms that lie on a light gray background with leaves of charcoal, pumpkin, mustard and tan-an unusal, but modern twist on the traditional orange and black colors typically associated with Halloween. And I knew when I saw the orange cafe light string featured on k*style and sold at Smith & Hawken that it was a perfect match.

Yummy lemon yellow

This bold pattern of leaves and blossoms takes on a whole new persona when featured in brown, khaki, yummy lemon yellow and gray! This fabric would add a wonderful splash of color if turned into a pillow and placed on a bed adorned with St Tropez Brown Collection by Nancy Koltes at Home.
This fabric sold out of my etsy shop before I even had a chance to post on it today!

Announcing the opening of my etsy shop!

I have stumbled across some more great vintage fabric and have decided the best place to feature these great finds is on etsy, an arts and crafts website. There are some amazing artists on this website and I figured these talented ladies could appreciate this fabric.
The graphic nature each of these fabrics would blend so well together in a living room. The fabric featured in the top photo is featured in my etsy shop. I found the "Robin" pillow on pillowsandthrows via design*sponge.

Vintage turns Modern

What a perfect pairing! This vintage Fire King tulip bowl pairs perfectly with these reinvented Fiesta Ware pieces. Now there are over a dozen happy colors to choose from and the scarlet, shamrock, peacock and sunflower pieces are looking quite lovely when matched up against this bowl. These Fiesta Dinnerware pieces are available at Macy's.

Lunch is more fun when shared with a friend

A simple salad becomes a yummy treat when perched atop these 2 vintage Haviland china plates. These 2 salad plates are the perfect size for this roasted vegetables with goat cheese salad (recipe available at marthastewart), or create your own recipe, invite a friend over and indulge in some great conversation.

Autumn Gold

I've often used vintage tablecloths as part of my bedding decor and this vintage gold tablecloth with silver roses and accents of maroon would look so pretty when paired with Pottery Barn's Matine Tolie collection in yellow.
This item is now available in my etsy shop.

Flowers of Hawaii

The wood from this Kamani Wood Calabash (aka salad bowl) is found in Hawaii, which makes it the perfect complement to a vintage Hawaiian kitchen motif when combined with this "Flowers of Hawaii" towel.

Patio Culture

I know that with the much-anticipated Labor Day weekend, comes the unofficial end of summer, but if you live anywhere near where I do, summer continues on. And in its honor, I am posting this fun zig zag striped pattern vintage fabric because it would look perfect as a small pillow to accent Patio Culture's seat cusions. So enjoy, and let summer linger a while longer!

Birdies, birdies everywhere

Birds are popping up everywhere in the design world lately and I have this charming piece of vintage fabric featuring these irrestistible creatures. I knew instantly this birdie fabric would coordinate well in a house adorned with anthropologie's embroidered quince curtains. This fabric bears an uncanny resemblance to the curtains in both style and color. I would love to hear your ideas for this vintage fabric remnant.
